1. Who we are
Unhinged Recipes is operated in the United Kingdom. Questions about privacy can be sent to support@unhingedrecipes.co.uk.
2. Information we process
Account information
When you use Sign in with Apple, we may receive an Apple account identifier and, where you choose to share them, your name and relay email address. We do not receive your Apple password.
Recipe and usage information
We may process ingredients, recipe preferences and generated recipe content to provide recipe generation and account syncing. Generated recipes associated with a signed-in account may be stored in our cloud database.
Information stored on your device
Saved recipes, shopping lists, viewed recipes, cooking attempts, notes and photos may be stored locally on your device. Removing the app or resetting local app data may remove this information.
Purchase information
Apple processes payments. RevenueCat helps us confirm subscription status and may process purchase identifiers, product information, transaction status, app user identifiers and technical information needed to manage access. We do not receive full card details.
Support messages
If you contact us, we process your email address and anything you include in the message so we can respond.
Technical information
Our hosting and service providers may process limited technical logs such as IP address, request time, device or browser information, and error data for security and reliability.
3. How we use information
- to provide accounts and Sign in with Apple;
- to generate, store and sync recipes;
- to verify subscription access and restore purchases;
- to provide support and respond to requests;
- to prevent abuse, investigate errors and protect the service;
- to comply with legal obligations.
4. Our service providers
We use third-party providers including Supabase for authentication and database services, Vercel for website and server hosting, RevenueCat for subscription management, Apple for sign-in and in-app purchases, and an AI service provider to produce requested recipe content. These providers process information under their own terms and privacy arrangements.
5. Legal bases
Where UK data protection law applies, we rely on performance of a contract to provide requested app features, legitimate interests in operating and securing the service, consent where required, and compliance with legal obligations.
6. Data retention
We retain account and synced recipe information while your account is active and for a limited period afterwards where necessary for security, dispute resolution, legal compliance or backups. Support emails are retained only as long as reasonably needed. Local information remains on your device until you remove it, reset the app or delete the app.
7. International transfers
Some providers may process data outside the United Kingdom. Where required, appropriate safeguards are used by those providers, such as recognised contractual protections.
8. Your rights
Depending on the law that applies, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or a copy of your personal information, and you may object to certain processing. You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office.
9. Children
Unhinged Recipes is not intended for children to create accounts or make purchases without the involvement of a parent or guardian. Please contact us if you believe a child has provided personal information improperly.
10. Food and allergy information
Dietary preferences and ingredients entered into the app can reveal sensitive information. Only enter information you are comfortable submitting. The app is not a medical or allergy-management service and generated recipes are not guaranteed to be allergen-free.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the app, providers or legal requirements change. The latest version will always be published on this page with its revision date.
